Kirk Yat (Church Gate), was commissioned as part of artist Irene Rogan's Being and Dwelling project, and explores the resonances of the church piano at St Michael and All Angels, Hawkshead, Cumbria.

It includes recordings I made around the church, outside and inside, capturing life in Hawkshead and some of the particular sonic soundscape on a given day. You hear the church gates (yats) at the start and end of the piece and the voices of people in town, across a couple of late summer days.
